MISSION:The Senior Manager for Global Apparel Demand Planning is
responsible for executing a reliable AAE demand plan within a
monthly S&OP environment. They will understand the details of
the regional forecast activities, past & current results, and
future forecast scenarios. They will be responsible for the
circulation and communication of the monthly demand plan to the
greater Value Chain organization as well as Senior Leadership.MAJOR
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage the Regional Demand Planning Managers by both a straight
and dotted-line matrix. Inspire these associates to set/achieve
market and regional goals, exceed KPIs, make educated decisions,
develop relevant skills, and remain professionally motivated.
Establish priorities for these groups as needed.
- Act as the leader of the Global Apparel Demand Plan process so
that the organization meets seasonal forecast deadlines efficiently
and meets monthly S&OP guidelines.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Apparel demand
planning function including ways to improve forecast accuracy and
turn metrics; predict/troubleshoot potential issues with forecast
calendars and work effectively with the NB supply and material
planning organizations.
- Understand R&D, Merchandising, Finance, and Commercial
department calendars, timelines, and deliverables to support
go-to-market decision making.
- Develop talent and implement methods and procedures to drive
continuous improvement, create efficiencies, maximize margin,
reduce cost, and improve forecast accuracy and service to the New
Balance markets.
- Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks including the
medium and long-range forecast point of view. Measure actual
performance against goals & LRP, and coach supply chain teams to
resolve variances and improve performance.
- Communicate forecast impact specifically as it relates to
supply planning tools such as the monthly RCCP, Short lead time
programs, constraint & capacity management, and ramp plans/new
product introduction.
- Communicate effectively with NB management on forecast-related
topics such as plan performance, direction, significant changes,
risks, opportunities and KPIs. Support in the
implementation/management of S&OP process via reporting, ad hoc
analytics and facilitation of monthly meetings.REQUIREMENTS FOR
SUCCESS:
- Exemplary leadership, communication, team building, and
analytical skills.
- Leadership by example, goal setting, and KPI achievement.
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint & Business Information System data
mining skills; required.
- Experience working with forecast software (e.g., Logility, o9,
Anaplan, SAP DP, Oracle DP, etc.).
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years demand planning experience and
5+ years management experience.
- Master's degree in business or related field; preferred.
- APICS CPIM certification; preferred.
